Sunday, March 17, 2013 – At 09:32 hours, Company 40 was dispatched to an accident with injuries on 29th Street. Dauphin County Communications received multiple calls regarding the incident. Prior to Rescue 40 arriving, an off duty police officer checked on the driver of the vehicle. For unknown reasons, the driver fled the scene, but was captured moments later. Once Rescue 40 arrived, information was received that there may be children still inside the vehicle. The rescue crew stabilized vehicle and confirmed there was no entrapment.

LADDER TRAINING
Thursday, February 28, 2013 – On Thursday, Company 40 personnel conducted ladder training. Crews practiced working with both roof and extension ladders. Thank You to all of the members that attended training this week!
RESCUE TRANSFERS TWICE IN LESS THAN 24 HOURS
Monday, February 25, 2013 – On February 25th, at 1615 hours, Rescue 40 was dispatched to transfer to Hampden Township Station 2 (Cumberland County). The Rescue crew was on standby in Hampden Township for just over 2 hours. On February 26th, at 0153 hours, the Rescue was dispatched this time to Dillsburg Station 64 (York County). The rescue crew was on standby for over 2 hours and 30 minutes.AWARD PRESENTED TO CITY LINE DINER
Saturday, February 2, 2013 – Today at the alumni breakfast, Chief Zwigart presented a token of our appreciation to the owner of the City Line Diner. The restaurant over the years has always helped the fire company with our fund raisers and support. Again, a BIG THANKS to the City Line Diner.
BUSY NIGHT FOR HARRISBURG AS PAXTANG GETS CALLED TO STANDBY AT CITY STATION 2
Wednesday, January 30, 2013 – Early this morning at 01:36 hrs. Harrisburg Bureau Of Fire received a call for a Structure Fire at 1947 Zarker St. Box 1-4 in the South End Of The Hill District, it was confirmed to be a working fire in a Duplex House, one side not occupied. Not long after a second alarm was struck sending (Paxtang) Engine 40 & (Paxtonia) Ladder 34 to Harrisburg City Station 2 to standby. While at Station 2 at 02:22 hrs. Paxtang and Paxtonia were dispatched to a Cardiac Arrest in Box 1-5 in Hall Manor, units cleared the call and returned back to Station 2. Engine 40 & Ladder 34 were cleared from the standby around 04:00 hrs.
ANOTHER YEAR IN REVIEW AS PAXTANG HOLDS IT’S 86th ANNUAL BANQUET THIS EVENING
Saturday, January 26, 2013 – This evening at 1730 hrs. Our 86th Annual Paxtang Fire Company Banquet & Awards Ceremony was held at the Progress Fire Hall. This was an evening to celebrate and award our members for all the hard work they do each year. Our guest speaker for the evening was Dauphin County Deputy Sheriff Michael Klinger and his K-9 partner Tika. Deputy Klinger has served 16 years and continues to with the Sheriffs Dept. He also serves his community as a volunteer firefighter. Thank you Deputy Sheriff Klinger for coming out to our banquet making us aware of the importance of the K- 9 explosives unit. We thank you and welcome you anytime. Many other visiting officals attended We would like to thank the following, Mayor Keldeen Stambaugh, Coucilman Nathan Martin, Councilman John Ninosky & Councilwoman Shelia Bourne-Fuller we are honored to have had you as you always show support to the Fire Company Thank you!

Lt. Tinari served on the Crabfest as Chairman last year, he is in charge of day to day duties as an fireground operations officer of the company and also First Aid & CPR Training for the company members. Thank you and Congratulations John for all your hard work!
2012 Officer Of The Year was awarded to: Secretary Cheryl Zwigart
Secretary Zwigart served on the Crabfest many years and held various positions for the fire company. She is in her 5th year as Secretary for the company. Thank you for all your hard work as well!

Sunday, January 20, 2013 – Rescue 40 was dispatched at 1233 hrs. to transfer and standby at Hampden Twp. (Cumberland County) Station 30-2 while they were working an incident in Shiremanstown Borough for a house fire. While enroute to the West Shore, the Rescue was dispatched in Silver Spring Twp. for a possible fire. The Rescue arrived on scene and was then returned by Command 31. Rescue 40 arrived back at Station 30-2 to copy and respond to another call this time in Hampdens First Due 30-6 Box for an Outside Fire, Crews arrived and quickly extinguished the trash can fire with no further services needed the Rescue returned to Station 30-2 to standby for the remainder of time that was needed.NEW WAGON MAKES THE FRONT PAGE!!!!
Tuesday, January 8, 2013 – We were pleased to find that a picture of the new Wagon has made it to the cover of Firehouse Magazine. For those that are not aware Firehouse magazine is an internationally known magazine for the fire service. It is a small picture but as far as we know Paxtang has never made it to the cover.TRAINING OUR FUTURE
Thursday, January 3, 2013 – Tonight members conducted our monthly maintenance checks on equipment, making sure saws, vehicle rescue tools and various others work smoothly. In the process of running equipment we were dispatched to a 32-2 Box in Progress, Susquehanna Twp. for an Odor Of Electrical Burning inside which the cause was discovered and downgraded. As we returned back to the station we finished up maintenance and took the Juniors out to practice hooking up to hydrants. The Junior shares the most important role on the (Engine) securing the hose to the hydrant and supplying the Engine with water. The guys did well and will continue to learn through (In House) as well as (HACC Fire Training). We continue to provide our members with best training to help them better serve our public in the event of an emergency.
