The borough of Paxtang is about a 1/4 mile in size. We border Harrisburg City Susquehanna Township and Swatara Township. We run a little over 300 calls a year. A majority of our calls are mutual aid. Theres 25 active members. We operate 1 Engine 1 Rescue 1 Support vehicle/Fire Police and a chiefs vehicle.

Box 33-5 WSF

12-19-16  At 1944 hrs box 33-5 was struck for a working structure fire.  Rescue 40 responded with a crew of 4.  Crew arrived on the scene and took up the RIT assignment.  Time out was 30 mins.

Search Detail

12-18-16  At 1932 hrs box 32-3 was struck for company 40 to assist Progress 32 and many other agencies with a search detail of a missing women from a nursing home.  Both Engine and Rescue with a total crew of 7 were out searching the local area for the missing women.  Crews were out all night looking for her.  She was found alive the following morning and was taken to the hospital via EMS.  Great job to everyone involved in the search.  Time out for Paxtang was 4 hrs and 24 mins.

Santa Delivery to Paxtang

12-18-16  At 1500 hrs members loaded up the Engine, Rescue and Santa’s sleigh to deliver Santa to the children of Paxtang.  Kids were able to visit with Santa and tell him if they were good or bad and what they wanted for Christmas.  The children got a small gift bag from Santa.  Pets were also able to meet with Santa and get a small treat.  There was a great turn out from the residences of the Borough.  Santa trip lasted about 3 hrs and 30 mins.

Box 32-1 WSF

12-18-16   At 0705 hrs. box 32-1 was struck for a structure fire.  Rescue 40 responded with a crew of 2.  Crew arrived on the scene was assigned with ventilation.  Crew set up PPV at the front door.  Time out was 25 mins.

Santa Is Coming To Town

12-3-16.  Santa Clause will be making his stop in Paxtang on December 17 starting at 9AM.  He will start on the West side of the Borough and make his way onto the East side.  Listen for the fire trucks to know that he is getting close.

Box 50-1 WSF

11-25-16  At 1433 hrs. box 50-1 was struck for a working structure fire.  Rescue 40 responded with a crew of 5.  Rescue arrived on the scene and assisted with fire attack and checking the exposure building for extension and overhaul.  Crews also assisted with securing the utilities to the home.  Time out was 2 hrs 18 mins.

Box 37-5 WSF

11-25-16  At 1052 hrs box 37-5 was struck for a working structure fire.  Rescue 40 responded with a crew of 4.  Crew arrived on the scene to take up the RIT assignment.  Time out was 1 hr 6 mins.

Box 40-1 MVA with Entrapment

11-23-16  At 1648 hrs box 40-1 was struck for an auto accident with entrapment.  Capt 40 on the scene with a single vehicle into a pole with a male driver entrapped.  Rescues 40, 44 and 49 handled vehicle stabilization and extrication of the pt.  Engine 91 had a hand line pulled.  Pt was extricated from the vehicle within 21 from dispatch.  Time out was 56 mins.

Box 1-4 WSF

11-01-16  At 0447 hrs Harrisburg City box 1-4 was struck for a working structure fire.  City crew and other county units were already on another working structure fire in the city.  Engine 40 responded with a crew of 5.  Engine arrived to pick up 2nd water source and layed into the rear of the structure.  Engine had multiple lines in service.  Crew assisted with fire attack and overhaul.  Time out was 2 hrs 31 mins.
